Preserving Clinton's Quality of Life

Preserving Clinton’s Quality of Life

Clinton is a small town compared to our neighboring land-rich towns. While development is not bad per se, it needs to be well-managed and well-balanced to prevent it causing irreparable damage to a small community.

During the past several years, Clinton has experienced an unprecedented growth in residential development. This begs the question: How much more growth can a town with finite resources in terms of infrastructure and public services--schools, fire, and police--support?

This question is especially relevant today because there’s much more development in the pipeline. As of March 2007, there are at least 400 more units that have been granted building permits and haven’t yet been built. This does not include the 80 plus single homes or 180 condominiums proposed by the Rauscher Farm developer.
